I never in a million years thought that I would ever experince what I did today. I got an XM-18 3.5 its my first and only Hinderer. I will say that it has been my ultimate grail for many many years. I have never been so happy in all my life!!! To be 100% honest I have never even held a XM before. Let me just say this though I have never seen a knife made of this quality and workmanship in all my years. This is by far the best knife I have ever owned!!! It fits my hand just like Rick himself made it just for my hand. This thing just rocks I understand completely why everyone wants one and talks so highly of them. I will say this knife will never go anywhere as long as I am alive. I must say this the best part if getting this knife is the great friend I made getting it. Jason is a true friend and a stand up guy that is a rare thing in these times. I am proud to have met him and call him a friend. I think these knives are also worth every single penny that they cost. I am sorry I can't post pics guys I don't have a computer only a smartphone. If one of you guys would be so kind I would email some pictures of my new baby to you so you could host them.

Thanks
Dan

You can e-mail them my way too if you like.

People are the worlds true treasure, but "good" ones are very rare.

I'm pleased to read you are happy with your XM.

A friendly word of caution, let's not talk "cost(s)", it often opens a can of nonsense that nobody wins.

Thanks for the kind words guys!!! I sent you the pictures Maprik I have always dreamed of owning one of these peices of art and I am still in shock I got one!!!

Hey Dan!

What a good looking knife! ;). I'm so excited that you are thrilled with it. You too are a stand up guy and it's been a pleasure indeed! Use that sucker in good health, may it serve you well. Now the Hinderer addiction has afflicted another knife nut! Have fun and stay in touch.

Congrats! Love your enthusiasm! 3.5 spanto—total winner!

Is that the dark or OD green? Nice score by the way, I'm looking forward to mine!

great score Dan! I was in the exact same spot as you a few weeks back. I know the exact feeling. ...I had never even seen (in person) or held a Rick Hinderer knife before...then BAM!...XM-24 Spanto...what a beast! man what great knives these are! your all right...no hype whatsoever, everything I had read was true! I know it sounds crazy (not to you guys!) but I know that feeling of happiness...easily my happiest day ever as a knife owner...and to be honest, it ranks up there in general, not just w knives!! LOL. When I get something that I have been following and researching for quite a substantial amount of time, and then to have it come in, and be NICER than you had ever expected?! daamn, what a feeling. I dont think there was much that coulda knocked me off that cloud! ;)

Im in search now of my 2nd RHK...Im thinkin I want to get an XM-18 3.5...havnt decided on slicer or spanto...this one would be my user. I know Ill catch some flak for this...but putting a single mark on that first XM-24 I got would be like a sin!! the thing is just soooo freakin nice I cant bring myself to put a single mark on her!! plus its massive, but def. not too big. I would just like a smaller knife for EDC. after my first XM, I dont want to carry any other knife...but with only one, I feel a need to preserve it!! LOL maybe I can even score one thats semi beaten up for a good price. These knives really do BEG to get pounded on! :)

Thanks for all the kind words and welcoming me into the brotherhood!!! I feel already that this is a tight group of friends around here. I am proud to be here with you guys. The color of the scale on my XM is dark green I apologize for the bad picture my smartphone is all I have lol. Other than my knives and guns of course!!!

Congratulations!! I've had several XMs, but have yet to get a spanto. They don't make knives much better. Don't be afraid to pick up some other scales. They are easy to change out for a completely different look when desired....its like owning several knives.

I just received my XM-18 on Monday. I echo your sentiments about the Hinderer Brand. It is NOT hype, and anyone who thinks so probably doesn't have one. I have now decided that my knives will be Hinderer folders and Busse fixed blades. I'm quite sure this combo will handle ANY tasks necessary for a knife!!
