Today was a good knife day. Sadly, I live in the suburbs of NJ and work a desk job in NYC. So more often than not, my non-kitchen knives seldom get any use. Although I do try, I picked up a LeThiers pocket folder recently thinking it was a bigger blade and was going to be more useful than the peanut sized knife that I usually carry into NYC. And even though blew up on me as the Rough Rider medium barlow (it's really a peanut sized knife), quickly found its way back into my pocket after about a week of carry with the LeThiers.
But this past weekend I was able to spend some time using the Spyderco Sprint Run Goddard that Barman1 gifted into his GAW. I was able to spend some time with it putting our Halloween display for this year. We spent much of the past 3 weekends building "Pumpkin Sentinel" monsters as the center piece of our theme this year which is a "scary cornfield". It's pretty geeky but my wife really enjoys building lawn ornaments for Halloween.
I was able to get to cutting zip ties to get to my garden stakes which went into staking up the corn stakes, digging out monster mud which is a combination of paint and drywall joint compound from the pumpkin heads as well as various other tasks. All in all it was a good knife day and weekends. I normally use a Delica for these tasks but the Goddard did a great job. It's pretty much in between a Delica and an Endura, its so slim that it disappears in the pocket and the blade is hella useful in length!
Anyway this is the end result, hope you guys like it.
The sentinel which took about 3 weekends to make:

The full display, we still need to add some extras here and there like the little pumpkin monster that is on a mechanical swing in the back:

Finally its time to put the Goddard away, thanks Barman!
