Today was a great day, because today I got my Bader III grinder! I had been looking at the Bader and the KMG. I had my mind all made up on the KMG. But, last week this guy called me from the next town over and said I hear your looking for a grinder. He knows one of the guys I work with. I said I was. He told me he had a Bader III with a 1 1/2 hp motor and a Baldor variable speed contoller. He also had the platen and the arm. He didn't have a wheel for it because he wanted to use it to flat grind. He said he had bought it but never even used it. Sure enough, it was brand new. It had been sitting in his basement for the last 2 years in the box. He said that he'd sell it to me for a grand. I really liked the KMG, but for that price I couldn't pass up the Bader. I've been working over at my buddy's shop, making my first two knives, but now my shop is coming together. I plan to run my wiring this weekend. Then all I have to do is hang the drywall, paint, build the tables and hang the lights. Of course I have more equipment to buy, but I have a belt grinder now. I'll probably order my 10" wheel and a small wheel and two arms this week. Oh yeah, the guy gave me a bunch of new belts too. I can't wait to get everything set up.:D

Grats man. Good luck with building your new shop. It sounds like it's going to be really nice.

Jimmy,
Thanks, I'll post the pics when I'm done. I've been taking pics as I go. By the way, I think the can welding stuff you're doing looks pretty cool. Good luck with it.

Woohoo!!! That's a deal and a half!!! I'm a dyed in the wool Beaumont Metalworks fan with a pair of KMGs, but that's a deal I wouldn't have passed on.

Congrats!

Hey Barker , you are a Lucky Dog to have found that deal . I have a KMG but would like to get another grinder. Baders are awesome , especially at that price

I just got through ordering my 10" wheel, 2 arms, and one other attachment for my grinder from Rade Hawkins. He's about an hour and a half away.
