It's actually there! When you log in, it's right under the buttons for user cp, register, etc. It's called view new posts. The only thing about it is that it sorts on the default sort of descending by date/time, instead of by forum. I keep finding that a lot of the cool stuff that I could use to customize my setup is broken because of this "parse error" thing. When you get that thing fixed, this is gonna fly!
