The weather was perfect today, any day now it will start to get unbearably hot.

Saw this guy out on a stroll. I have rarely seen coyotes out in the middle of the day like this.

Just got this little beauty in the mail a couple days ago. Diving Sparrow Boreal, direct from Abe.

He does some really nice leatherwork as well

This is hands down one of the most comfortable handles of all time. The gentle shaping that he does is hard to show on camera, but man this thing feels amazing!

Nice pics T, looks like a cool area for a wander. Nice snaps of the coyote, I hardly see them in daylight here either, but quite a bit at night. Nice knife, I've been wanting to give one of Abe's smaller knives a go for a while.

I am still exploring this area, it is amazing how much open land there is back there. There are quite a few people hiking and biking around close to the trailhead, but the further we go, the less and less people we see. It's mainly pretty dry and brown, but there are also some useful resources around like willow, yucca, mulefat, prickly pear cactus, wild mustard etc.

Bummer is there is extremely sparse shade and this area gets up to well over 100 for a lot of the summer. Early morning and late evening hikes will be better, plus there will be a lot more wild life to check out.

Thanks for sharing brother! Man that's a fine looking knife! It's awesome seeing socal members post up pictures from our area.

Yeah coyotes are running low on natural food here and crossing over comfortably with all the small pets here.

I've seen about 10 coyote this year, as opposes to seeing less than 20 my entire life here.

That handle looks so perfect it looks as if it were plastic.

Nice terrain and sweet looking knife.

Yea, I have to watch my cats like a hawk because the coyotes and coydogs/dogotes are making more frequent appearances.

I was hoping to spot him hunting up a rabbit or ground squirrel but no such luck. Always fun to see larger fauna around. I have also seen a bobcat in this same mountain range.

If you're still exploring it sounds like you have some fun days in store! I bet it does get hot, but there seem to be a few trees around. If not maybe some practice in creative lite-tarp-use as a sun screen :)

Yep that's the exact reason I carry a sheet of plastic for some improvised shade!

Nice pics! I live in Los Angeles and I see coyotes all the time. I saw 4 of them the other night in an alley by my house. It was about 3:00 am

Nice knife I didn't know Diving sparrow knives were sill being made.

Yep Abe is going strong! He has recently added some new models as well, but I have always loved the look of his Boreal.
