I’ve made leather sheaths and wood scabbards but my favorite is PVC. I have never made a kydex one. Here is the PVC sheath I made. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/sheath-made-from-pvc.1606305/
My favorite part is the belt/pocket clip. It is tough as nails. Not at all traditional though. I think there are a bunch of other good ideas if you search the forum. Enjoy!
