We went snowshoeing today for our first time. Went on a 7 mile hike, ended up hiking for about an hour after dark as the snow just started to come down. It was a beautiful day to be out in the woods.
I was pretty impressed with my wife as the sun was gone, she never once mentioned that she was worried. I did have my full elk hunting bag on, so I wasn't too worried about staying out there, I actually tried to get her to, but she has to be at work tomorrow morning.
We had a great first outting with our snowshoes. I hope to get out a few more times this year before the season ends, and hopefully get to do an over nighter with in the snow with my wife.

Good lookin gal ya got there! My girlfriend is the same way, no worries when we go out into the woods. Having confidence in yourself and skills puts others at ease. My girlfriend and buddy ed always say if i seem worried or show a concern to something, it's time for them to worry whether we're in the woods or out in town or whatnot. I'm easy going and carefree so. I wish i could get my girl to go for a long walk like that! I'm slowly breaking her into hiking, taking longer and longer hikes. We're actually venturing into the woods tomorrow. As long as i make it fun and compliment her on something she does good, she seems to like it and builds her confidence in herself. You're always a lucky man if your lady enjoys what you do. When i met her she wasn't into anything outdoors related. I've gotten her into knives, archery, hiking, fishing, BB guns (so far), bicycles, motorcycles, photography. The list goes on. She got me interested in.... ummmm..... i don't want to take up makeup and hair for a hobby lol. She already liked camping a little so yeah got lucky there. Did you see any wildlife?

Your blessed to have a wife that will do this with you! Looks like she enjoyed it.

My sis lives in McMinnville.

Great shots! Run across any tracks in the snow? Would love to see pics of that area in the spring.

Great pics buddy, I think me and Mrs Pit might be coming over to Oregon next year, maybe ya can take us a hike !

Woah dude, you married up. :D

Cool pics. Awesome that you and the wife do that stuff together.

I am hoping to get out again soon. We were talking tonight about hiking part of the Barlow Trail within the next few weeks.
Pit, let me know when your heading to Oregon, I would love to take you two out for a hike. PCT?

Yea, I am still shocked, as are my friends that I got her.... :-)
Here's a picture of the wife with her first bass, or any fish for that matter. She loves going out fishing with me, but mostely just to read...

Something tell me you will like her bass more than my bass! Mine was bigger though!!! (Man, I was skinnier back then)

Nice how do you like those inflatable pontoons? Is it too much paddling not enough fishing?

Glock,
Actually in that picture, I was using my oars, but most of the time, I dont even bring them with me on lakes or ponds, I use my flippers. Believe it or not, I can cover some serious water with flippers on that Pontoon. I highly highly recommend that boat. It is a little heavey, but I have run class IV with it. I have taken it on a 69 mile rafting trip down the owyhee river in SE Oregon- Class 3-4.

Mistwalker, we saw some rabbit tracks and that of squirrels, no deer elk or bear. It just snowed in the hills behind my house, so I will hopefully get out there and see if I can find a Pussy Cat.
