First up for my buddy codger (and of course for anyone else who loves them good ol' schrade fixed blades). I got two of these 498's in on the deal, both MIB with paper and blades still in plastic wrap.

Then there is a MIB LB5 an IXl stag canoe and a 708B mint in origional clear packaging (master blade stamped schrade +???) the stag canoe has a ser. # of 100.

then the IXL M-40's..... cream and white MIB

GS50 Canoe. This knife had a Suggested Retail price of $49.95, has a Genuine Stag handle and is 3 5/8" closed.

I do like those fixed blades! That particular pattern was used and reused several times over the years. Your 498S (Staglon) also came as a 498L (Leather), a 172S, a 172UH, and probably a few more embodiments. It was a very popular pattern for a lot of outdoorsmen, as was the whole 49er series. I believe it was LT who showed us the original sales display and flyer on these. Issued to commemorate the 1849 gold rush? A good find there MM. Proud of you!
