That is a blade made to work a hard hundred years:) Excellent work:thumbup:

I've long loved the look of the Bolo, but I'm unsure what it is best suited for. Being a straighter blade, I'm not sure it would be as handy for whacking stumps, trees and branches. What did/do the natives use it for?

The bolo is used in the Philippine jungles for cutting through dense, tangled vegetation and also as a weapon for the military. Kinda like a combo machete/tactical hacker. I love the feel of the HI bolo... but have never actually used it! Its got a monster half-inch spine & I've sharpened the edge enough to easily shave the hair off my arm. Now, what am I going to do with such a thick chunk of steel that's as sharp as that? It could easily sever an arm or split a skull in half... but I don't do that very often...

Actually if you take a blade as thick as the Kami's like to kick out I find I PREFER a straight blade for hacking.

I bought a 19.5 bladed Chit and sold it to another member because it was too thick,in use it never felt "right"

The new Farmer's knife that I snagged will be just dandy with the thick as all hell blade since it'll be less a knife and more an ax :D
