My dad and I went out this afternoon, a few miles south of Edgemont (South Dakota), for a short "warm up" session, to become re-acquainted with my prairie dog rifle (a Cooper Arms M21 Phoenix chambered in .204 Ruger):

So is the 17 the number of CRKs you own? ;) Very nice Sebenza.

That would be the number of prairie dogs that are now in Prairie Dog heaven. :D

I own 22 CRKs, with number 23 on order.

Very nice Sebenza.
Uh, look more closely... ;)

It's an Umfaan, but it's not mine. Some kind gentleman, who happens to be a member of this forum, gave me the opportunity to check it out, which I am doing at the moment. The best way to describe it is as a mini Sebenza, meaning smaller than a Small Sebenza. The workmanship is incredible.

The Umfaan always looked like a cool mini sebenza to me. It would probably not fit my hands well as the small sebenza and mnandi are about as small as I like. Does anyone have any pics of a small sebenza or mnandi next to a Umfaan ??? I think its funny that its been redesigned for the last few years now !!! I am curious to what the Umfaan cost when it was new way back when ???

Here you go:

Large Sebenza 21 with Black Canvas Micarta inlays, Mnandi with Damascus blade and Ironwood inlays, and the Umfaan.

I am not sure what you're trying to convey, but, shooting over-populated prairie dogs is far better than the alternative, which is poisoning them, that almost certainly kills their natural predators...

Sigh... Obviously you have never been to this part of the country. Regardless of the data (as opposed to so-called facts) that the website you referenced provides, prairie dogs are far from being endangered.

So much for posting this stuff here...

Please, don't quit posting pics like these just because there are a few people out there than can somehow empathize with vermin.

I agree, keep up with the posting and hopefully people will remember that this is a knife forum and not somewhere for them to spout their opinions and judgements to people on non-knife topics. Keep that crap out of here and lets stick to knives, Chris Reeve knives preferably.

Back to the real topic, that is an awesome Umfaan and thank you for the comparison picture as I have a Small Sebenza, and had a Mnandi, and always wondered exactly how the Umfaan compared in size.

Chris Reeve Knives. I love 'em. :)
Got an Umfaan of my own, my only CRK that I bought directly from Mr. Reeve himself.

Prairie dogs. Mentioned in the original post in passing.
Not an invitation to turn this into PETA advertisement.
I'm sure you can find their website and go whine there.

Thank you. We now return to our regular broadcast!

Wow I've never actually seen an umfaan next to a small seb or mnandi. Its actually a bit smaller than I thought. That small seb looks montrous next to it! lol. It looks like it would be a perfect pocket carry at work so as not to scare the customers.

WOW, Awsome Pics, Thanks for sharing. I knew someone out there in CRK Land would have all 3 of them. I cant believe the size difference between the large sebbie and the umfaan !!!......:thumbup:..............Do you have a small sebbie you can take a pic of to compare it to that ???

Surely that's a large sebenza on the left... Right?
Edit: Oh yeah, it says it is at the bottom of pic xD

Ah, should have known from the telltale circles. I'm slipping in my old age. :D.

I don't know about other folks here, but the Umfaam I had seemed to "feel smaller" than my Mnandi's do, if that makes sense.

Wow I first discovered CRK with my 1st reg seb purchase in 2008, the Umfaan was talked about but rarely seen, hehe all this while I thought it was midsized!

Today's session was 25 rounds, and I had 20 hits. That's a better 80% hit ratio. Here is today's tally counter:
