I received an Orange G-10 Bodega yesterday. First Impression was, "Wow! It looks nicer in person than in the pictures!"
The Bodega is a large knife. The blade is nearly 4 inches long. The blade is thick, the two titanium frame slabs are thick, as is the lockbar frame extension. All the edges are rounded and smooth, making the knife very comfortable to hold and use. The flipping action is second to none, and in my experience, only equalled by Tim Galyean's skill in constructing the perfect flipping action. It is buttery smooth, fast, and effortless. Todd knows how to build a flipper. Unlike most other knife makers, Todd's flippers are designed to be flippers from the start, they aren't simply a tabbed-blade addition to an already-existing design. The pocket clip is unique in its approach, being a perfectly-straight piece of metal attached to two standoffs sunk into the lockbar piece of the frame. The ball bearing pressure point is also unique, and protects your clothing from the typical knife clip abrasion. I'm still not sure how that ball bearing is actually attached to the clip. It looks as if it could fall out, but it doesn't. I have gone over the entire knife closely and the fit and finish is absolutely flawless. The backspacer is perfectly flush and seamlessly joins the slabs on either side. The ice crystal texturing is eye-catching and the G-10 inserts are fit perfectly.
This knife is definitely going into my daily carry rotation. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!:thumbup:
