Do any of you have a thought or an opinion about the RUT. Thanks. Just thinking about getting one.

To me It's just another pocket tool.
...
....
.....
......For a hundred bucks.

I really think the appeal is to have something made by Todd (and yes, he makes them). Considering it is nigh on impossible to acquire one of his knives.

It reminds me of the $90-$300 "knucks" and titanium bottle openers.

Pointlessly expensive.

As I understand it, the RUT came about as a tool to have handy for those nasty jobs where you really would rather not use your real-deal Rexford (even though it could surely handle it). Much easier to gunk up or trash a disposable razor and then replace it as needed.

Going by that logic, I think it has more value than carrying a knuck.

And while it is more expensive than simply carrying a box cutter it looks like it is a lot nicer to carry and use, and it will open bottles too...

I don't own a RUT but it does appear to have more utility than the average knuck/pocket tool (and I do have a few of those! LoL... 😮 )

It's a neat idea, but I'm not afraid to cut yucky stuff with my knives. I just clean them and sharpen them.

It will open cans and bottles, has a pry bar and a screw driver, and can use a bimetal TiN coated blades. If you get stopped at the airport, you can hand over the blade and keep the tool. Very light and compact. I am going to turn mine into a money clip.
