Vegan/PETA approved "leather" is nasty. line for holes vanishes. holes close, requiring a awl to open and stretch before the needles will go through ...
At least I remembered how to saddle stitch.

First project since 19 and 68. I know it rates an "F-". At least the Toferner won't be falling out of the sheath while I'm sleeping.

Next project will be a month or two with real leather. Cloth backed rubber "leather" sucks.

Got a hobby lobby or Micheals craft store near you ?
They have bags if leather scrap that may not be the best leather ever but still better than fake stuff.

About 40~50 miles round trip over in Twin. I have no way to get there, so I'll add some scraps to one of my monthly Amazon orders.
