I'm stating to see Tom's work more and more. I really like the looks of his work. Are they as good as they look? His designs seem to push the style envelope a little. Are they worth $400+.

Thanks in advance

I had a chance to look at his new line of fixed blades saturday. Every bit as good as his folders. The man does good work.

I am also really impressed with Tom's high quality work. I picked up four of his knives at the recent NY show. My favorite is his unique upscale warrencliff in damascus and sterling silver inlay and chain. It is a cross between gents and tactical - in modern upscale way. He also makes a rugged "folder style" small fixed blade that I really like.

Wow! Those are some great looking knives! I am really going to have to start saving some money! I have been hesitant to jump into the custom knife arena due to the rationale that how can a $400-$500 knife be THAT much better than say a $150-$170 Emerson or MicroTech? Other than the "custom factor", I don't really know. I would be hesitant to use one as a daily carry knife just because of the $$$$! Maybe as a dress knife for special occasions, tho. Now the tough part - choices, choices, choices.

Thanks for the responses and info guys.

Larry,
How is his fixed blade? How big is it? Is it concealable?

Brigadier,

Toms' fixed-blades are the same size & shape
as his folders. They are even constructed to look like a folder (they even have a faux pivot). From a distance they will appear to be another folder until you pick it up and see that it doesn't fold.

I bought a left handed wharncliffe folder from Tom last year. It had one of the smoothest actions I' ve ever felt. His use of an oval cutout for blade deployment is a plus.

BTW Darrel, where are those tactical M&Ms? They were there before you took the pics!
