hey
anyone know Tom Brown's contact?
the one that made the Tracker?
I need to ask him some serious questions.
I got a call today from a company that is interesting me greatly. ..
..thanks for any leads.

here is his website. After you talk to him you need to talk to David Beck who I think really designed the knife more so than Tom......
http://www.trackerschool.com/

I have Davids # also if you need it.

Tom Nor David designed it alone...it was a small group effort over a few years time.

Thanks Brian
I'm needing to talk to the one that authorized the sale of rights to make them.
sure the number might be better

...Thanks

Hey Dan & Brian,You guys peaked my interest so I did some searching and came up with this http://www.topsknives.com/whatsnew/trackernews.htm

it seems there is a conflict as to who has the "rights" to this Blade design. This was the last statement on the home page:

P.S. Mr. Dave Beck, one of the four previous makers of the “Tom Brown Tracker Knife”; was in fact offered the option to manufacture this knife on two separate occasions in the year 2000. Mr. Beck did in fact decline, both times. He also sent a letter to Tom Brown stating that he no longer intended to manufacture the “Tom Brown Tracker Knife” and forfeited any and all rights to any future manufacturing of this knife.

Tom Brown Jr.

I just thought you guys might be interested .Talk to you guys later!

you need to talk to TOPS knives, not Tom Brown.

Tom is not part of TOPS, just like Blackwood does not work for Benchmade.

Dan,

I have talked with Tom about this knife in lenght at one of his classes, He has trade marked the name tracker, that is why Dave Beck has still been able to make the WSK. I let him and his son play around will my Linger version.

Ron

Brian,
He liked it a lot, The only thing he wasnt to fond of was the FireSteel attached to the sheath, he though it was cheating. ;)
Bow & drill or other friction fires only, at the Tracker School. :D

Ron I was only needing to talk to him about contracts with Tops not about the tracker. I mentioned the tracker only to get the right Tom Brown..
but you do bring up a interesting point.

Michael,
He didn't seam to care one bit, his son Tommy III, was telling me there have been several makers of the design. TOPS is now the offical version. In fact there were a few students in class that made their own copy. Like as nice as my Linger :)
