Is anyone familiar with the Tom Brown's 'Tracker' from TOPS. I don't know if any have been even shipped yet. It looks very interesting.
Tops is closed until after New Years, so I can't speak to anyone there. But I'd much rather have unbiased opinions from you guys.I've heard pros and cons about Tops, but they're cetainly priced right. Although I'm fairly new at knife collecting, I've drifted, or maybe been steered, toward Busses. I own several models and they're all dynamite. And you certainly can't beat Jerry's warranty. Since the Tracker is numbered, is it a collectable or a user. They're is a movie coming out next year which features the Tracker. You can check it out on Tops site. I'm sure that it will add to the sale of the knife. But I don't feel like investing $300 in a "movie" knife. Does it have a full tang, will it take a licking and keep on ticking, etc., etc., etc. All imput will be greatly appreciated.
Hope you all had a Happy Holiday, and have a healthy and happy New Year!!

From what I read of it's history of the evolution of the design, it seems sound. TOPS is a solid company so you won't have any problems with workmanship and durability of the knife. All depends on your personal preference of what you want in a knife. I don't think TOPS make knives to be for movie display collectables. I think they are meant to be used.

For me, price is sometimes an issue so I researched into other knives people mentioned and found the high quality versus economy ratio to be quite high. Some knives that come to mind are Becker, Cold Steel, Ontario, and Swamp Rat Knife Works. Check with other members for their personal recommendations.

Just my 2 cents.

If Mike and Helen Fuller are willing to put their TOPS logo on it, it will be a knife capable of performing its intended mission.

In some cases, people feel their knives are over priced when looking at a specific model. In other cases, people feel they are under priced for what is offered. Whether they are a good value I think depends on what you intend to use the knife for.

I certainly would not buy a TOPS knife for a collector piece. I'm sure time will prove me wrong when 20 years later true collectors are looking for the early knives.

TOPS has so many models that the knife you have can get lost in the crowd. That is part of the reason I think they are successful because you don't have to compromise if you really know what you NEED, they make it - you just have to know what you need and look at their offerings to find it.
