There's not much I can say about this knife, that's not apart in the pictures. It's incredible.

The scales are Tom's self-authored Damascus. Which he then engraved into with his Basketweave pattern.

That pattern is also on the backspacer...

And it's marked on the inside of the spacer...

The blade is bar-none, one of the best hand rubs I have ever encountered...

Anyway, this is a very special piece to me, I hope you guys enjoyed seeing it. Looking forward to hearing what you think.

Aaron,

That looks very nice. Thanks for sharing it here.

Two questions:

1) Pardon my ignorance, but can you tell me some more about ZiFiNite?

2) How is the action (i.e., opening, closing), sharpness, etc.?

TIA!

ZiFiNit is a High nitrogen, alloyed tool steel. When heat tested right it's extremely wear resistant, and stain repelling. Since this is the first knife I've had with it. We'll see how it does over time.

As for the knife. It's all amazing. Tom really is a master knife maker, as his title suggests.

Tom has always done wonderful knives and this one is terrific. What I particularly like is how he has integrated the clip into the whole design and embellishment of the knife instead of just leaving it as an add on. Very artistic indeed and something you should be proud to own and show so thanks for the presentation to the forum.

Really like the engraving pattern and the scales, but don't much like the kiritsuke-like blade pattern.

Whenever I encounter them, just wind up Garssonizing them into santoku/wharncliffe profiles.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I really like this knife...and I love seeing Tom's work posted!

He is extremely talented in so many facets of knife making, but we haven't seen much of his work here.

Seems like he is going almost completely to folders, but I miss seeing his fixed blades too.

Is he doing the Instagram thing - don't see him around on any of the forums I visit ...
