Goblin #1 means the first ever to leave Tom's shop. My charge was to try and show all that's going on in one image. Hmmm...
It's an awesome carved and constructed friction folder with a very cool display stand, and it's one of the largest goblin folders I've ever seen. Very skillfully done, IMHO. Tom's engraving is always noteworthy. The whole package is very impressive. What do you all think?

Now that is , not to mention one of the nicest goblins I have ever seen:eek:!The photo is stellar also Buddy:thumbup::thumbup:!

man that guy oozes talent.
Great photo, too. It's nice to look around at all the neat things going on.

Super cool Goblin, wish it were mine:cool::thumbup:

Great photo, maybe a bit too busy, but that is necessary to capture the knife and all its details. Well done Buddy.:thumbup:

Now that is nice work. Nice carving and engraving work not to mention the pattern welding. Id go with a few less spikes on the handle but the craftsmenship is through the roof. Thanks for sharing.

The image work is well done aswell. Takes a great artist to capture these beauties how they are meant to be seen.

That is a great picture but there is so much going on in that folder and stand that it just begs for MORE pic's. :D

+1 I'd like to see a pic with the blade fully open. The carving on the back is amazing, and it would be interesting to see when the blade is fully open.

That is just COOL!

Though not my piece I have had the pleasure of both working with Tom on thise one and have seen it first hand. Awesome is as good a word as any I can think of. Tom had a vision for his first Goblin and was fortunate to have someone allow him the freedom to pursue that vision. For his first or tenth Goblin he certainly exceeded all expectations on many fronts. A real statement from Tom showcasing his extensive arsenal of talent. Really first class all the way.

Buddy has done an excellent job of capturing many of the nuances of this knife and display. A very tough project to say the least and know he would agree.

Really well done, Jon

Another example of the depth of talent and artistry of Tom Ferry and example of custom knives contribution to the world of fine art.
Probably not a piece to enter into the most comfortable handle competition though. ;)

Is it a great photo? I guess that depends on the intent.
The intention could be either to create a work of art or to display all the many aspects of a work of art.
In my opinion, Buddy’s image does an excellent job of representing and depicting a beautiful knife and as many details of such as possible.

Fine work by both Tom and Buddy.

This Knife came by my shop I am a big fan of Goblin folder's and Tom's work so I was thrilled that I got to hold this one. Kevin you said it well this is art. And Tom can make any knife that he sets his eye on. I took a pic or two when I saw it The eye's are set in from behind.

Ya know, you could place that knife alone on a sheet of white paper and the image would still be busy. There is NO taming a Goblin--especially one of this calibre.

The whole 'goblin' attraction and method is over-the-top indulgence and conflict. In mental anguish it would be cognitive dissonance--that is not the same as cacaphony.

This piece draws out dark emotions and it laughs in the face of art with balance. As it is intended.

That's also why they are SO hard to display.

Bravo to ALL for their collective signatures. It's simply astounding.
