Well... I've finally succumbed to an ART KNIFE!!! LOL!!!
Couldn't resist something so aptly named and reflective of my hobby.. and it's one I display proudly! :D

This features Tom's Damascus: there are, as I recall, three different Damascus items in the blade - the ball (a canister product), the chain and the blade itself... all melded together and rising out of his Timascus bolster. Blade is @8", @12"-13" OAL. With the most geourgeous piece of mammoth ivory slabs, carved with a checkered pattern.

Yeah... I've always wanted a really nice piece of mammoth on a knife handle... little did I ever expect to get everything else with it, too!!!

That is a really BEAUTIFUL piece. I really like the checkering on the handle. Great job!
Tom

That is indeed SWEET ! Tom always makes some interesting mosaic and the checkering on the handle reminds me of the very best custom 1911 .45's. Love the picture too. Good choice, Joe. Jason.

That's just a beautiful bowie joe. Love the mosaic blade and the gorgeous mammoth ivory handle. Sweet!

God I am jealous that is probably the nicest bowie I have ever seen!!!!

Well, yesterday I saw that knife on his site and made the picture into an avatar. That really is one stunning bowie.

Yet another great looking Tom Ferry knife. I still only have one, rather plain(in comparison to this beauty) Tom Ferry knife in my collection. That will have to change in the future.

I haven't carried and used my Ferry knife lately(that will also have to change), but it is certainly not going to be sold or traded. One of the cleanest, most perfectly ground knives in my collection.

Dang Keith - I was going to do that! LOL!!!:D

Glad y'all like it... To me, I'm stunned at the process that went into it, and I'm still not 100% sure of all that it took... But I just couldn't pass it up.

I also have one of Tom's little belt utility knives, which came in a horizontal kydex belt sheath - convenient and sharp as all get out... that's my Ferry user! The Ball and Chain will probably never cut anything while I have it... but I think it could!

LOL!!! Keith... no need! The fact that someone else enjoys it enough without even having touched it... I consider it an honour that you use it till the next one catches your eye! Heck, I can always open the drawer and fondle it! LOL!!!
Ya know, I kinda thought I'd never really own and "art" knife... I figured thay all had to be able to be used without detracting from their overall visual appeal... okay, I admit, most of mine are safe queens... However, this particular one was bought with the foreknowledge that I'd never even think to use it (my apologies to Tom, as I'm sure this knife would also perform past any expectations I might have towards it's actual usefulness!) Sometimes, I guess, ya just need to go for the eye-candy once in a while! :D
Thanks for all the kind words!

Edited to add that I have to extend my thanks to Mitch Lum for the photography - most excellent work and it does the piece justice!
Thanks Mitch!

That is one fine piece of work. Great photography too Mitch!
Congratulations Joe.

The mosaic pattern in the blade has an inescapable 'Yosemite Sam' image! Cool. Just right. :)
