A while back, I posted a picture of a nice carry size fighter with 6" D2 blade and green canvas micarta slabs for the handle. Here is the big Brother of that knife. Same Dozier heat treated D2 steel, only this one has an 8" blade. Black canvas micarta handles. The balance on this knife is superb! Fit and finish are top notch. Somebody needs to get the word out on Tom Krein. This guy is good!

Whhooaarrr!!!...dude! Is this the blade you were telling me about? Tom is sure one heck of a maker! Love the drop handle design, makes the blade a wicked choper!:D

Eric.

Yes, this is the knife I was telling you about. The handle is very comfortable, and I believe would support an even longer blade. This one, I wouldn't chop with. It's a fighter, and is ground pretty thin and is pointy.

Here's a decent picture of some of Tom's other knives. The bigger one is a 6" blade version of this fighter. The hunters are very comfortable in the hand. Even Jerry Fisk commented on how good the drop point with the rounded black micarta handle felt.

that big knife is a great looking fighter. I liked the smaller version, but this one appeals to me more. The rest of his knives look darn nice as well.

Huumm...since it's a fighter and ground thin, the drop handle will still serve as a good "whip slash" move. OK..that's it! I'm getting one from Tom, Thanks Dan for the pix!;)

Eric.

Thanks for the comments guys. Thanks for posting the pictures Dan. Keninshiro, the dropped handle also brings the point down when held in a saber grip.

Tom

I like the curve of the handle. It looks like it will ensure a good, firm grip.
