Did anybody see the cover of the new A.G. Russell catalog? There is a nice color picture of two sweet little drop point utility hunters make by Tom Krein. Great looking knives! I happen to carry the exact model of knife around my neck when not at work, but mine has carbon fiber handles.
I already knew about Tom Kreins's knives, having seen them up close and personal a few years ago at the Little Rock, AR Custom Knife Show. Simply put, this man is one heck of a knifemaker! Tom worked for Bob Dozier, and some of his knives reflect Bob's styling, but are brought to a much finer finish. Tom also worked for A.G. Russell, making various knives. Tom utilizes D2, A2, 154CM and probably will use whatever steel is requested. Paul Bos does a lot of the heat treating, but most of the D2 blades are sent to Bob Dozier(who knows a thing or two about heat treating D2). Great kydex sheaths too. Like Bob Dozier's kydex? Then, you will like these sheaths.
Folks, you need to check these Krein knives out. I realize this thread will probably equate to me having to wait a lot longer for my next Krein knife due to an increased backlog, but the word needs to get out about these knives. A lot of knife for not a lot of money.
