Tom Krein Regrind

I've had Tom regrind a bunch of high-end knives for me, e.g. XM-18s. He does impeccable work, the knives came back hair-popping sharp, and you get to choose whatever type of grind you want...which is tough to do with some makers and companies like CRK. The downside is your warranty is gone.

Look into Mr.H profile and some of his pictures on photobucket. Somewhere if you look closely you can spot a few Tom Reground Sebs if I can remember correctly.

Yes I'v had a few done by Tom, if your interested in a regrind your going to have to find one already done because he has stopped regrinding for now.

He needed more time for his folders

Indeed, Tom is taking a break from regrinding. If you need another regrind referral, send me a PM. I think I can point you in another direction.

Bottom knife...a "Krein'd" small classic.

the bad thing about turning that hollow grind to a flat is how much material is removed...id imagine its REALLY thin :/

Tom reground my Small Classic Sebenza and it became a cutting machine. Before it was reground I was not happy the way it cut and even sent it back to CRK to have it sharpened. That helped a little but not much. BTW, I have an older BG42 Large Sebenza that is a great cutter and slicer and I think when Chris switched to S30V he left the edge thicker which makes for a more durable edge but does not cut and slice as well. I was thinking about getting a few more knives reground by Tom and am sorry he is not doing regrinds right now. I also have a small Insingo and just love it! It is a better slicer and cutter than the Classic was from Chris and I like the Wharncliffe type blade. It even has a little belly to the edge. This is a great design from Chris and Knifeart! I have several CRK knives and they make the best knives I have seen.

Jesus, how thin do you guys get the knife? I bet it is a cutting machine because my unmodified sebenza already is plenty thin enough for my needs and slices and dices everything better then I can ask for. Of course I mirror polished the edge, and that seemed to help a bunch.

Tom did my ZDP Delica and Endura. That is how I would want them from the factory. They are thinner, but they cut like nothing else. Without a doubt my two sharpest blades.

Mine is pretty thin....thin enough that I'm careful not to get too aggressive with any lateral movement when cutting harder material. It goes without saying that it slices extremely well.
