Been looking at Tom Mayo's TNT series knives. Heard a lot of you mention many great features and experiences with them.

Was at his site reading up on his knives, but couldn't find any information on the TNT available sizes. They are listed on one page labeled as relative sizes such as small, medium, large, extra large, and super size.

Does anyone have the information on the sizes associated with these descriptions? :) Thanks

I emailed him asking the same thing, and he told me to go to the "for sale" section of his site where all it tells you is the overall length and thickness of the knives.

My small has a 2.75" blade. My medium has a 3.25 blade, I think, it's not on me today.

I TOLD YA MAYO!!!!!!

you need to post some pics with something to show SCALE for a size comparison.......

I lost track of how many times I have brought this up.....

now get with the program!!!!! and show some informative pics and maybe you will get some knives sold ....

cmon, how hard can it be to post a pic with a small, medium, large, xtra large, etc...... in it.

and NO!!!! a pic with a watch is not a good scale photo :p :p :p

Guess I'll have to email him, thought someone here who is a big Mayo fan might have the information first :)

lol dn, Tom spends a lot of time in front of that computer! I'm surprised he hasn't responded yet! :p

Oh, my medium is 7 3/4" open, 4 3/8" closed with 3 1/8" of cutting edge :)

I have had a small recently that had a 2 & 5/8 inch blade.

I have a medium with blade almost 3.5 inches.. I thought it was a large, but Tom said it is just an oversize medium. He said when he ground it, it just wound up being a little longer than usual, no extra charge:).

His "sizes" relate to the thickness of the blade material he uses for each size.

I have a proto medium that has a 3.25 inch blade.

So...
small- APPROX. 2.58 inches
medium-APPROX. 3.25 inches

Although I have several TNT's, a medium is the largest I have had experience with. Sorry. Keep in mind, for Tom, TNT size refers to blade material thickness as well as length. The only constant being the former.

Hope this helps.

Just tried to call, didn't realize he was 4hrs back from me. I'll let him sleep a little longer then call again :)

From what everyone is saying, it sounds like I would be interested in a really beefy supersize.

I don't think that Tom has "standard sizes". But I think that it's somewhere like small= blade 2.75", medium blade= 3.25" and large is 4" and greater. He would be glad to make you a knife in just about any size you want. Tom is one of the very few that really make custom knives. He uses no blanks and he doesn't mass produce them. No two are alike. The size of the blade depends on his mood. He may be a bit slow on the delivery times but his stuff is very good.

SO THAT WAS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
My wife is mad!!!! It was 5:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AM!!!!!!!!!
The standard sizes are: 2.75" Small blade size. Medium is 1/2" larger, large another 1/2".......and XLG another 1/2"
That is a general rule.....not hard and fast!
Supersize means using all 3/16"+ material on the two handle slabs and the blade.
The small and mediums have 1/8"+ handles and blades
The large and xlg have 5/32"+ handles and blades.
Thanks for your continued interest......and dont worry Dave...someday your neck knives will be done.....no matter what you believe.
And Scott, thanks for being so patient........you are a true saint.. after waiting for another couple of years we might get a church here in Waialua named after you!!!!!!!! :p:):p
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
