Hi all,

I just came to this forum to find some info on a decent knife for my toolbox.
I don't know a thing about knives, but recognized the name "Tom Mayo".

I just realised I once bought a watch from a guy named Tom Mayo in Hawaii...

So I guess I have Tom's old watch

He even threw in a Tshirt with the "M" logo on it saying Mayo Northshore; I wore it all the time and only just now discovered what it means. What a small world.

I'm looking forward to learning all about quality knives, but it looks like I should get a Buck Mayo TNT for my toolbox :D

welcome to the forum mike

i have been wanting one of those tnt's myself just the $ holding me back but i dont doubt that they would be worth it

Yes, Welcome to the Buck Fourm!!

Tom pops in here some to keep us straight on any info about his knives.

I have the 174 and 179 as users. The 172 just lives in a dark place in the toy box. It is one nice piece of work!!

CJ Buck and Joe Houser have both said that they edc the 172. As good an endorsement as any. And nice watch!!

The Tutima is a GREAT watch. German made, NATO Chronorgraph.
Ohhhhhhhhhh....don't get me started!!!! I used to collect watches...too expensive of a habit.

Now I collect Bucks, not as expensive, but the frequency of the "fix" is nickel and dime-ing me to death ;)

ANYWAY, I went to a HS Reunion last night. Had to dress in grown up clothes. That meant no 110, 112, or 298 that are in my regular EDC rotation.
I took my 172 TNT Buck Mayo as an IWB and it was great. You hardly know it's there and the sheeple don't know either.

When someone needed a knife to cut some of that new gawd awful plastic they now package stuff in...it was out wiki-wiki as they say in the islands.

Also have a Buck Mayo Mantis and HAD a Hilo that I gave to a bar buddy
that admired it (ARGH!!!).

No way is anyone else gonna get my TNT. I can't say enough about that knife.

A Hui Ho...
Aloha.

As do I. ;) It's so light, you almost forget you have it in your pocket. I work in an office so it is very practical. And then when you need it, you have one awsome knife at your disposal.

I think I know eactly what you mean. The more I read the forum the more I think I might sell a few of the watches that rarely get worn and get a knife or three

Have you kept anything from your watch collecting days?
