This car GPS has hit the $100 price point this season.

Anyone here have any experience with this unit?

I have no direct experience with it, but reviews of the Tom Toms that I've read in the past have not been as favorable as the Garmins and Magellans. Apparently the Tom Tom's ability to create a route can result in some pretty circuitous directions.

If I was you, I'd do some googling on Tom Toms before spending any money on them.

I purchased this model for the gf during black friday sale for 99 dollars not including tax. I could not find any info on this product via internet called up tomtom, and the customer rep said its basically a rebadge 130 "minus canada". Product is not text to speech which is a fancy way of saying it doesn't give you street names. The screen is nice but not as nice as garmin of same model base. There can be a glare during certain times of the day as sunlight bounces off the screen. My only real complaint with the tomtom 125 is the attachment really sucks on it. Damn thing fell off the windshielfd mount within a week while sitting in the driveway. This was not a result of me not putting it on right, just flimsy design. One final note about gps units, you will here how some people will praise certain units while others just down right hate them. It has nothing to do with the unit themselves, its more about your particular location, if the company gps maps are detailed than you have no problem if the maps are lousy for that particular location than you can be off. Garmin and tom tom have good maps in major cities, tomtom doesn't seem to do so well in more rural areas. You really can't go wrong with any major gps brand these days.

I just got the tomtom go 720. Thing is intuitive, mostly well laid out in the touchscreen options, and is bloody handy on long road trips to unknown areas.

You just have to realize that the "fastest" option isn't always fastest. It usually means a freeway route which isn't always the best or fastest option.
