I have a few drawn up, check this out!

I'm not in any way set on a design yet... this is just one of many.

16.66" long

Evolution of the design... I started with the one in the middle, then the left and right. The one at top is sort of a combination of the designs. I'm still tempted to do the middle or right one...

Hmmm the one in the middle you started with is my fav. Think the back go the blade needs a spike or a hammer though.

I like the 1 in the 1st post, but what ever you make will be one of a kind Fairly Awesome. :D

Thanks!

If I go with something like the top design the back/spike side will be full or near full thickness for maximum concentrated impact.

I like the top/first one posted!
Much appreciated! I think I will go with something like it.

Thanks! I'm thinking it will be like the first one but maybe more streamlined and longer. S7 for the steel with removable G10 Grips and maybe a wrap option.

bearded edge, must.... and the back side... well, dual edges is good, but having a blunt side for hammering is goods too....

hatchet, CHECK!

Cool man, sounds good! If I go bearded I might strengthen up that bottom edge and I think a blunt or un-beveled back would be good.

That's a great start! :)

Much appreciated! I'm pretty much set on S7 and hope to incorporate the removable grips. Shadowboxed G1/Micarta with rounded steel corners on the scales.

I have owned a lot of hatchets, I can't wait to make one!

I would go for the top design. That sharp pointy hook looking directly at me while I'm trying to breach a door does not make smile.........

I like #3, fwiw.
I should make that one and the first one... the third one would be cool as a massive war hawk and the first more of a breacher/utility hatchet.

I agree, if it is a breacher it has to be safe for the operator. I really like the bearded axe look but that and breachers don't go together.

I want to make these today! I need a pretty big chunk of steel I know that, I want to make about a dozen.
