Here's how my Shrike ride's on my daily "decompression" hike. Rig is the Hill People Gear original kit bag. Knife hanging off the rig's grimlock is a JK anniversary EDC. Water bottle rides in a dump pouch.
Anyone else have non dust collectors?

Here's a method I came up with for when I train. It's my cut-down CRKT Chogan, but this set up works equally as well with any RMJ sheath, and in theory would work with any sheath with has 2 suspension points.
I'm a fairly small guy and the strap I used was the shoulder harness which came with my Kestrel feather as well as the triglides. I added a small piece of 1" webbing to create suspension loops to the sheath, this allows the sheath to point forward when the hawk is drawn and makes it easier to re-sheath as well. It's very comfortable, minimalist, I can easily wear it under a jacket, and for fun I tried it on with my kit (I can easily put on/take off my flak vest and tactical vest without having to remove the harness).

(this also doesn't inhibit any movement or accessing any pouches)

Looking good! I'm trying to decide my ideal method of carrying as we speak. JK knives used a great leather baldric that I really liked.

Here is my pair, still need clothes:

Nice set up simple jumper. i experimented with a similar rig but decided to stick with the stock set up since it's quicker to throw on for any rapid deployment. Our heavy tac vests have the bullet proof shoulder/ bicep protectors which would make your rig impossible to put on without a helper. Using it with a standard plate carrier as well would be difficult-especially with a slung M-4.
For covert carry or minimal gear yours is the way to go.

Simple Jumper, that is brilliant, not to mention an awesome set up. Could you post some pics of the rig/harness not by worn and exactly how you did the webbing? I do believe that will be the answer to how I will carry my Jenny Wren.
Thanks!!

Great thread by the way:thumbup:

Longknife, sorry I didn't answer sooner, I only just saw your question.

Here's what we want it to look like:

Step 1: lay out your 1 inch webbing. I'm a pretty small guy (5'8", 150lbs +/-), my webbing is about 65 inches long (give or take).

Step 2: Place your triglide and feed it through, mine sit at 29 inches from each end with about 8 inches between the two.

Step 3: Now it gets tricky and may take a few tries. You want to create a loop like I show here. The best way I can explain it is lay your webbing flat and hold the triglide in your right hand, with your left hand turn the webbing over to the opposite side bu turning it AWAY from your body. Now re-thread it through the triglide.

Step 4: Weave the webbing back towards to loop to lock it in place.

Do the same for the opposite side but insert your tomahawk so it hangs in the shoulder loop. Adjust as required for comfort and ease of access.

Lacing the sheath with webbing will depend on the sheath itself. The RMJ and CRKT sheaths have 3 slots for webbing weaving and the RMJ pamphlet which comes with each hawk demonstrates the locking weave. If someone wants to see it, I'll post that as well. These images may provide some help:

That is PERFECT!! I know what I will be doing tonight
Many thanks, brother!

Awesome. Now I can make use of the factory sheathes without having to wear a full kit. I may use a similar webbing set-up for a handgun rig, too.

Bump this one to share the brilliant rig Simple Jumper shared with us
Thanks again, brother!
