Tomahawk handle queries??

Hi there everyone.

I'm having myself a tomahawk forged by a local maker as they are hard to get into through customs these days, and I was wondering if there was a production handle out there that is considered an industry standard in size and quality.

Are the cold steel handles considered any good?

I'm thinking of having him make me a nice looking one, but then having a factory handle as a backup.

Cheers

I think the Cold Steel tomahawk eyes are larger than most others, at least mine are. My Cold Steel handles are thicker and strong. Look down further and you will find a few common sites that others get handles from.

I've had good results using Cold Steel handles. I'll give CS their due props because as far as I know they are the only ones who offer a decent length handle (22"). Everyone else provides stubby little short handles so the first thing I do is replace my handle on a new tomahawk.

The old way I used to do it was by carving down a sledgehammer handle.
