  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Tomahawk handlr

You can wedge-fit slip fit eyes, but they tend to require front-to-back spread to the handle in addition to side-to-side, so a cross wedge or dowel wedge can be handy, and they can be more finicky to get a smooth shoulder on than a wedge-fit eye because the bottom of the eye isn't at all tapered. In countries like Spain, Italy, France, etc. that use slip-fit eyes, one often finds such axes outfitted with wedged handles, as a matter of preference one way or the other.

/\ What he said! I'll just say that you can do it. I think it would make handle replacements a bit more difficult.

If you place the head up-side-down on the haft ...

Tapered Head positioned \ / vs / \ and you could then effectively wedge the top \'/ with a little wood-working of the haft (maybe ...) :-/
