Howdy. I found this hatchet in my garage, and I thought I'd ask if anyone here recognizes the brand, model, etc. Links because the images are pretty big.

There are no markings on it, but the head seems rather distinctive. It has a hammer on the back, so I assume the notch is for pulling nails. No idea what the 3 holes are for. The bottom seems to have a small bladed section as well. It might be like this off the shelf, or someone might've modified it themselves. I have no idea.

Here's the whole thing. Does it ring any bells for anyone?

I thought drywall hatchets had those holes to put some kind of stop pin through so you wouldn't punch too deep. Am I wrong?

The adjustable pin on a shingle hatchet is an overhang gauge.

Roof overhang adjustment pin is a new one on me. The Estwing roofing hatchets (same shape and design as your's) 35 years ago also came with those holes and a removable pin that I was told was used as a 'stop' for maintaining consistent exposure/overlap of cedar shakes and shingles. I put a lot of miles on Estwings (I was an asphalt shingle roofer on quite a few jobs) but dispensed with that irritating pin right away and used chalk lines as guides instead.
