tomahawk in this photo, what is it?

Here's the thumbnail photo for the purported 'American Tomahawk':

Here's what the link takes you to ...a 'American Tomahawk Riflemans Hawk'
amertomnew-t.jpg
...which is supposedly the ATC Rogers Rangers Hawk (according to the link text. ie. http://216.71.158.68/webcat/rogersrangerhawk.shtml , but is actually a hammer poll hawk.
http://pvk.com/americantomahawk/ ...which if you'll note, is not 'American' at all, as it's made in Taiwan.
Beats me for this one ...maybe it's old ATC stock or a discontinued model, as it doesn't appear to be listed on the ATC website. (I think I remember hearing that ATC was discontinuing some of it's models a while back ...maybe this is/was one of them.)

I'm assuming you're referring to the first thumbnail ...which is definitely not a 'American tomahawk', nor a 'tomahawk' of any kind for that matter. It appears to be some type of a small axe or hatchet, although I can't place the manufacturer. Maybe someone else can identify it. Heck, maybe it's just a distorted (shortened) photo thumbnail of one of the other ATC hawks, come to think of it.

At one time, CS was selling Taiwan-made hawks under the "American Tomahawk Company" brand -- which made American Tomahawk Company somewhat miffed. Don't know how it turned out, but some reason to wonder about CS.

That sure is a CS Rifleman, got one 2 years ago and it came with the ATC sticker on it. I never figured out why.

Absolutely a CS Rifleman hawk. Been throwing a few around for a few years. Not 01 steel and overpriced to boot!

yeah I was talking about the 1st photo you posted, I guess that's some sort of error in the linking or what they used as a thumbnail. I haven't seen that in any tomahawk sites, especially not american tomahawk.
Appreciate the comments.

I wouldn't call Cold Steel tomahawks overpriced at all. I'm assuming you're refering to PVK's price, in which case I would totally agree. In fact, most Cold Steel hawks can be found for under twenty bucks from a variety of vendors.

If you're referring to the item in the thumbnail it's the MAX Mini-Axe, designed by Paul Ehlers and produced by American Tomahawk Company.
I hope this helps.
