Tomahawk suggestions please!

Hiya folks,

Been looking at some cheaper hawks, since I can't really justify spending big dollars on something I'd be throwing around and possibly messing up beyond recognition... The one that mainly caught my attention was the 22" CS Trench Hawk, what is your opinion of it? I reckon it might be a little bit long for throwing, no?

I'd appreciate some suggestions of <$100 hawks, this will be purely a toy, mainly for throwing as I already have a few GB hatches/axes that perform those tasks.

Check out the RD Hawks from Ontario. One has a spike, the other doesn't. $100 +/- if you shop around, and extremely tough. I have the spiked version and it's excellent.

It is a very tough hawk, and I've thrown mine quite a bit, it's held up very well. Yet, it's not made for throwing, the curve at the bottom of the handle grabs your fingers upon release. For throwing, get a straight shaft. It's heavy, so that doesn't help either.

A wooden shaft on a hawk is made to let go, and maybe not break. The wood will eventually break, probably from throwing, and the are easy to replace. Condor, and other companies, make full tang hawks that are made for throwing. If it's just for fun, and throwing, go cheap, and have fun.
 
Personally I would go with a Cold Steel Norse Hawk. I'm actually suppose to get mine in the mail today, I do own the Cold Steel Frontier Hawk, which has taken years of abuse.But the Cold Steel Norse Hawk I think would be an excellent thrower due to the bigger head. It should increase your chance of the head sticking. A big bonus with the Cold Steel Tomahawks is that they can be customized without feeling guilty.
 
Have a fort tuner hawk on order wanted something under $100 which it is.... something a little different, don't know how much throwing I'll be doing so not too worried about that ...... if it matters I do have two other hawks one from LaClair and one from Vec....
