Merry X-Mas to all. I am looking for suggestions for mounting a tomahawk inside my Landcruiser. I use it on my ranch for general chores. It obviously needs to be secure, but I want it accessible also. Any ideas?

Size? Is the handle round? There are flashlight mounts available, if they are too large try the spring clips used to hang a broom on the wall.

perhaps velcro, depending on how much you "care" for the land cruiser, should keep it secure and no rattle. You can also swap out for other tools. Sheet metal screws and washers will hold it in place.

What tomahawk, or what type of sheath? Is the sheath MOLLE compatable, if so that opens up more options.
What is already in the Landcruiser, any pockets on the door or back of seats? Maybe you can get something that attaches to the seats and have it in a "pocket" behind the passenger seat? This way there's no permanant modification to the vehicle, and it's still in reach.

The RMJ Tactical Rump will allow you to mount onto a hard surface or web gear.

Good call Mossy,
I forgot all about that option. I try not to look at the RMJ website, it's bad for my wallet.;)
Get that rump plate and some sheet screws, and mount that sucker right to your dashboard! JK, you'll want it on your headliner, so theives won't see it as well.

Or, just use some webbing to lash it to a seat back or where you want it, good kydex solution!

Get a flashlight or hammer loop and hang it from the headrest behind the passenger seat. I use electrical wiring to make S hooks and gun racks to hang off the back of the headrests sometimes.

I keep mine tucked between my console and the passenger seat. Easy to grab and comes out easily. Not the most secure but so far it hasn't budged without a good (and intentional) pull.

A number of companies are making rare earth magnets mounted in plastic shells that can be screwed or riveted to a surface. They hold around 15 lbs per magnet. Google "weapon mounting magnets" or some variation and the sites will show up.

One magnet will hold a small ax, though if you do a lot of 4x4 travel you might want to use two, especially if the whole ax is suspended, verses having the handle resting on the floor.
