I picked this Hatchet yesterday from an old antique shop. I had just been looking at the Council Hudson Bay Velvicut and was surprised to find a similar design. It weighs about 1.75-2lbs 3.5-4' blade and has the letter "R" stamped on the right side. Just fit it to a new 18" Hickory handle. It's working out pretty good.

Thanks. I just barly cleaned it up with a trizact belt, around 400 grit. Based on the tool markings in the blade, would you say it's drop forged?
