There's a shortage of Tomcat II images on the web. SOG site does not have any at all...

Here are 3 pictures that I made myself - on one of them you can see the difference between original Tomcat with cocobolo handle, and the new one...

The second knife on the pictures is SERE 2000, that's the biggest folder I got aside from Tomcat. Notice how huge the Tomcat is comparing to the SERE looking from the back of both knives...

Great Comparison.
The new one is even more of a tank in the blade!!! I makes the old one look slim and svelte!!!

WOW! Thank you SOOOOOOO much for taking multiple angle LARGE pics of the TomcatII! I have just discovered this knife after deciding to upgrade from my current folder.

So right now I'm deciding between the Cocobolo (sp) and the Kraton handled one :D

Thanks again:)
Warthog

are these in production already? and the new tomcat has a thumbstud? cause the old one didn't right?

Warthog if you plan on using it and getting it wet and dirty go for the kraton!

Manji yes you can buy them now! I just got mine and it is just awesome! The New Tomcat II has the thumb studs.

ahhhhhh skag, the next question I was gonnna ask was about moisture......damnit, the wooden one looks so cool too.....but I'm afraid it'll crack in time with oil and moisture from my hands or whatever :(

hmmmmmmm

Click for full size:eek:

Quick and dirty pics! BTW the Tomcat is BC coated!!!:D

whats the price on it? I can't seem to find it on the sog homepage, is the blade steel still aus6? does anyone have a link to where i can purchase it? thanks

My only criticism of the Tomcat II would be in relation to the placement of the thumbstuds. Since thumbstuds tend to interfere with deep cutting, I prefer that they be positioned as far back towards the tang as possible. I mounted a one-armed bandit on my original Tomcat that almost touches the bolster when the knife is open. Works great.
