Doesn't it bother anyone else that LT went out into the wilderness to track down his survivalist/knife fighting disciple, but didn't have even just a pocket knife on him? Seems like he'd have at least a fixed blade of some sort.

There's a wal mart in practically every city in America. The US government couldn't spot him some loose change to pick up something sharp?

I agree, but wasn't there some plot development that explained it? Weren't they unexpectedly lost in the forest and Jones didn't want to let Benicio get away?

I guess that doesn't explain why he didn't at least have a pocketknife, but I thought there was some other plot device that kinda required it.
