Tony your not being honest with yourself about what happened. The Colts played exactly the same game at the same level they played against the Jets and the Ravens. Worked just fine then. It was the same game they played all season and it got them a 14-2 record (should have been 16-0). The Colts showed up Sunday expecting to beat the Saints with that very same game plan. Granted Freeny wasn't his best, otherwise everthing else was a go.
There wasn't many flags and certainly no game changing penalties. The game had ONE turnover, Manning had 31 completions, Addia had a good game running the ball. The fact is, Manning didn't choke with the interception, that play was executed perfectly by the Colts just like they'd been doing all season on 3rd and short situations. Porter picked the play up from film study and jumped the ball. Sunday's game was NOT the Colts beating themselves as you've suggested by failure to play their best game. They played their game exactly, it just wasn't good enough.
The plain truth is the Colts lost to a better prepared and more aggressive team that showed up determined to win not expecting to win.
Very simply the Saints won the game by being the better team. I expect you really know that despite all the Colt fan bravado
