Too big to be a karda

I received a very nice Boker "Gaucho" knife in yesterday's mail from
Argentina. I have a couple of knives in some of the patterns associated with this style of knife, but this one is an instant favorite. I really like the size, balance, materials and construction of this knife.
Then HIKV kicks in and I think: Gee, it's just too big to be carried as a karda.
Here it is with an 18" AK:

and a 21" GBS:

maybe something in 25" is in order.

While taking the pictures, I got to comparing the karda from the AK with some of my favorite belt knives. The karda has a little more edge
length than the knife directly above it.

...and since the camera was out; here are two khuks I am working on:
The BGRS is having the handle girth reduced, just need to cut the rings back on.
The 16.5" WWII has had the handle reshaped, the blade ground convex, and a satin finish applied (ala Yvsa's "green scrub pad method"}.
I plan on etching this one to see the temper line.

Greg that's a Beautiful Gaucho Knife!!!!:D I've wanted a really good one for years, but never found one I was willing to spend the amount of money they always wanted for one, too rich for my blood!:(

Great Gaucho there, definitley a beauty.

After I saw your pic, got out karda from my 15" AK, and it's less than half an inch smaller than my EDC, which considering it's an SPyderco Endura II and a Kershaw Vapor II, is not a small blade. :)

Yvsa,
I hear you brother, I got this off of eBay at a very decent
price even with the shipping cost from Argentina. The seller had another in similar style up for bid just recently. He is good to go with me.
I know you speak highly of Crazy Crow Trading Post, I'm thinking these Solingen Old Time Trade blades they offer would work fine for a Gaucho pattern knife.
:)

etp777,
The HI kardas do stack up pretty well when we start comparing them to some of our other knives don't they.
Regards,
Greg

You just need a bigger AK.

Those Crazy Cow blades look like a good project. Someday when I have some skill I might try one.
