I've got to tell one more Kim story, that is illustrative of her outlook on life.

A while back, we were leaving a doctor's office in a medical center. Kim was using her walker. As we went through the lobby, we met an elderly lady coming in, also on a walker. She gave Kim a mornful look and said in a defeated, dreary voice, "Oh, sugar, I'm so sorry that you have to use that walker. Aren't they horrible to have to use?"

Kim looked at her with a big grin and said, "All of the cool people have one."

That's our girl!!! :D

That is awesome! That made me laugh out loud. She sounds so positive. That outlook has to be a great asset for her and your family. Almost as importantly, it has to affect the people around her (as it sounds like she does from all accounts from the show).

She politely deflected the pity offered to her and maybe she even helped that lady in some way. You have done well :D

Now THAT'S the way to start my day. :D I wish I had half the intestinal fortitude that young lady has

That is too cool. Tell her to keep up the good work, we are all rooting for her

What a great story, thanks for sharing it with us. Kim is definitely the coolest girl around!

Thanks Mike... I really like to hear stories like that. It's a great way to share something about ourselves. I myself have two daughters. I can only hope to do half the wonderful job you and your family have done with your daughter. Thank you!
