Hi every one,I'm new to the madness and already ordered a ka-bar BK2 on saturday and am also looking at the ak-47 folder. This knife is a little expensive right now so I'm searching ebay and the web in general for the near future purchase. Finally to my question I found a ak-47B from $5-20,is the B for B stock/damaged/flawed or just a knockoff.Thanks.

B-Stock usually refers to "seconds" that didn't pass quality control. In other industries this means scratches, blemishes. With clothing, maybe a sleeve is longer than the other.
I'd make sure you can return it, just in case. B-stock on a folder could be related to the mechanism.

Is this considered deal spotting?

I don't think it is dealspotting if you are just asking whether a price is appropriate market value. Mentioning/linking to the specific place where you found that price (unless that place has paid to be mentionable here), is where the line is drawn afaik. If there is a problem im sure your post will be edited soon by a mod.

Also, seconds typically carry no warranty support from the manufacturer. If you break it, then it's all you.

A friend of mine got a cold steel second, and the knife has blade play, the locking mechanism is pretty sloppy, and he has happily transitioned into a ZT 0500 for EDC. I have found no source for getting cold steel directly from them, and so i would be a bit concerned as to the origins of this particular piece.

No problem with deal-spotting. A iandh said, if you didn't mention a dealer, it's cool. We do have paid dealers, whom you can mention here. (And a whole dealer section in the Exchange, where they advertise.)

I would be very careful buying a second or damaged goods, especially from a dealer -- it may be a reject some previous buyer sent back for serious flaws.

Cold Steel actually sells seconds of their own from time to time, marked with a 2 on the handle, and while they have no warranty, they tend to be solid users.

I got sliced by a folder with a weak locking mechanism before so there is no way I would trust a B/second knife,I'm just interested what a $5 ak-47B would look like.
The strength of the Tri-Ad lock is impressive and It's the main reason why I'll be getting one from a proper dealer later on.
As for the dealer-spotting I got a message that I was booted right after my first post so I thought that might have been the reason, but all is good.Thanks.

I wouldn't want to trust a $5 CS AK47, good call on that. It might be good, but it might also be a wrecked Gen 1 AK, who knows.

If you wanna talk about that BK2, come on over to the Becker Sub forum we got here, there are plenty of us to talk to, and show off your blades.
