Non-Knife but Pro-Savings.
My son, living near Detroit, has been using an app called https://www.toogoodtogo.com to save $$$ while in residency. He is pretty much a bunny-hugger turned vegetarian that is ultra environmentally conscious. He was telling me about all the savings he gets using this app.
"Too Good To Go" is a social impact company on a mission to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together.
The app is the world's largest marketplace for surplus food, helping users rescue good food from going to waste, offering great value for money at local stores, cafes and restaurants.
Since using the app is FREE, curiosity got the better of me and since I've got far TOO much time on my hands as a retiree - I had to check it out.
So far, I've gotten pastries at a local bakery and bagels from a large chain @ about 25% of the cost ... great for my wallet - horrible for my gut!
Both times, the items offered came right off the shelves/bins in the store front.
This is what I received for $4.99 from the bagel shop:

14 fresh off the shelf bagels
I didn't take a picture of the pastries but it was similar in cost, quality and quantity.
The app has offers for discounted meals, breads and pastries, groceries, flowers and plants, and pet food. I live in a smaller community so the offerings are not as plentiful as there would be where my son is located - so if you live out in the sticks you may not have much of a selection.
Anyways, I have nothing to gain from this but just wanted to share with my brothers and sisters in this knife community that enjoy saving money while helping the environment.
