any chance we can get just ONE sticky here in the Busse sub-forum with however many links to the rest of them, rather than the first page being half-full of stickied threads?

too much clutter, I think.

anyone agree?

any chance to change it?

for instance, there are currently four Announcements and eight Stickied threads...

Some of the stickies will disappear after Blade, and then others will show up as part of the next Ganza, so any triumph may be short-lived. Some of the other sub-forums here are worse, both in terms of numbers of stickies and the fact that they are more permanent and could more easily be condensed into one longer permanent sticky.
 
well, this is the best sub forum with the best knives and best people, shouldn't we have the best first page with the least amount of clutter? just sayin'... ;)
 
We can get rid of the Blade Show 2008 pictures and the VIP Passes but I still need the Induction Dinner up.....:thumbup::thumbup:
 
wouldn't one big Super Important Threads sticky work, that way it could hold links to however many is needed - which could change as necessary?

It has been suggested before, and I am a slacker. I'll do it over the weekend..

That wouldn't work. People have a hard enough time noticing and reading the stickies as it is, with them having descriptive titles. Bury them in a thread with a generic title, and they might as well not exist.

But I think there should be maybe 3 permanent stickies tops.

WOW...Are you saying that my Blade Show Thread Sticky is not important???

I am only kidding but I do have to tell you that some people do not read entire threads so if we did a super duper thread that is why I asked for some of those to be sticky's...

It is a crazy time right now getting ready for the Blade Show and if we do not do that.... We get e-mails that say "Why did you not sticky it...or I did not see it ect.. Sometimes important things get buried and we just want to keep everyone informed...

in your user cp you can increase the # of threads in your page, at 40 threads per page it only takes up 1/4 of your page. besides, many people don't read them as it is, and there would be many times the amount of gremmie/ grommet questions!:eek::D
 
Basically the *stickys* hold valuable info, and although those of us that have been here for a while know this info, there's always new people who find this place, and they would find those stickys invaluable. I have a scroll button on my mouse that makes rolling on by them a non-issue......just my 2 cents :)
