Now see, THIS is a sensible option. This is being adequately prepared. "Two is one and one is none......"

I could see that rig being used in some sort of crossover martial arts/zombie movie where the main character is facing off against a group of a dozen zombies and he takes hold of that sword, still sheathed with all the other knives still attached, swings it towards the crowd, and all those little knives go flying out and each one makes a perfect head shot hitting ten different zombies right between the eyes. He then uses the sword to finish off the remainder couple stupid enough to tangle with this obvious alpha possessing complete weapons mastery.
