Now I love the Dodo and understand its concept. But for me it was a little like a N frame .44 mag in snubnose. That is ,a large small knife.

So... I cut off the point, rounded the back on a file, some wet/dry.Redrilled the spacer. Now it looks like a Navagtor handle.

I first made a cardboard mock up to try the fit.Well the real knife feels even better.I get a full 4 finger grip ,thumb still rests either on the back of the blade or the handle /blade junction.

I just really love it ! Since its one of 2 or 3 knives I carry, this makes it easy to drop in a pocket, plus now it looks small to the sheeple closed as well as open.

Now if only Sal would make a 3 inch one....

You tease us with this and you don't even post pics? Bastid!!! ;)

Well I'm very low tech,I don't own a digital camera.Hell I'm lucky if I can turn on the computer.I may have a friend take some shots, but would have no idea how to get them here.

Heathen,it was your photos that made me do it. In fact I printed out a photo of yours, cut the knife out to use as my mock up.

Did you countersink the screws yet? If not hows it holding up? I did not countersink mine.

Heathen and Lone Hunter - What is the length closed and the overall length open with your mods?

I have a SS Cricket in the mail, and I was trying to find a way to make it more grippy. I think a modified Dodo might even be better with the coil, steel and g10. Anyone know how I could get it professionally done, seeing as though I would be too scared to do it myself?

3 1/2 closed,5 1/2 opened. There are guys who work on production knives, should not be hard for them.I have almost zero skill in this area,it took maybe 1/2 an hour. But I did not put on the clip which would require adding slots or countersink the screws...

You could look over at usual suspect forums,in the "pimp my knife section" to find guys.

There could be guys here also, just I don't know of them.

Many add skateboard tape to ss knives for grippyness.

I have an SS Cricket and I don't really find grippiness to be a problem. Admittedly I haven't used it in situation where I might have oil/blood/other slippery liquids on my hand, but dry it seems to work just fine.
