Hello everyone, I have been a lurker here for awhile and thought I would share a post.

I have been doing stock removal for about 4 years and about 4 months ago located an anvil for a decent price.

I thought I would try and make some damascus, and now I want to make a lot of damascus haha.

39 layers 1084/15n20 twist.

Please critique and let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I really like the nice bold pattern, looks comfortable in the hand too :)

Looks awesome! Did you do this all by hand? How long did it take you?

Thank you everyone, yes this was all by hand, it took around 5-6 hours to get the damascus and blade forged.

Started with 13 layers, cut into three and stacked, then twisted.

I think it looks great - a cool pattern for sure and overall nice design. I'm also a fan of walnut :)

Is there any design on the butt? Might be cool to inset a disk of the damascus.

No design on the butt cap on this one, just smooth. Maybe on the next one though hah.

Thanks a lot everybody, I have made a couple more since this one, I am hooked on damascus at the moment haha.

Looks fantastic, I just hand forged some damascus myself, took about 12 hours hand forging and I lost about half the billet over all, but its currently at 160 layers, ready to be shaped into knives. I think I'm going to go with a lower layer count next time.

Very nice, I lose about the same as well.

I just did 132 layer, I ended up with a good amount left over for some knives and guards. I did 2 billets and then ended up combining them on the last weld to get more material before the twist.

Still working on the etch but here was a quick pic I took.
