Didn't get any photos while I was out; didn't think to bring the camera (flip phone has a dismal camera). Still, took the BK12 MkII Perseverance (or whatever the hell its full name is
) with me just for fun. Didn't really think I was gonna have occasion to use it. Then I came upon some downed limbs and decided I needed to do some test chopping with the new slabs that I got yesterday. Chopped off a little stick:

And then started stripping the bark and smoothing out the thick end... and then stopped - cause I realized I wanted to get some pics of the process. I intend on turning this into a walking stick. Also found today; a nice piece of Oneida silverware:

My plan is to finish the stick using the fork as a decorative "finial"; I'll try and bend it around the staff above the grip, I think, or flatten it and use it lengthwise as a shield....not sure yet. Also enjoyed some of this:

Stuff is really good, IMO. Like legal, bacon flavored crack. I am digging the new Micarta. Quite a step up from grivory. Really makes the knife feel much more in line with the quality of the steel, IMHO.

and the full tableau:

The sky was really pretty today, and despite only being 36° today, I wore shorts and was very comfortable in the sunshine. So....lastly, a gratuitous low angle shot:

Thanks for checking in. I'll be trying to make something of that stick before I post some more pics.
