Posted this over on W&SS but since my BBB (best becker buddy) was my main squeeze for the day figured I;d post a little over here..

Went out to the woods yesterday with my bk-7 to practice a little shelter craft

start loading up my poncho with leaves to bring back to the shelter site

the first coating of leaves is on (in reality this would need to be much thicker but for demonstative purpose it'll do)

Nither view downt the center.. (u don't want to be able to see daylight poking through)

Looks like that'll do the trick. I bet it'll keep ya dry for a night or two! The BK7 was my first "big" knife, and I love it!!

good stuff! we gotta hang out one of these days. it seems like every time i go off trail i seem to manage to get lost so i need to practice my shelter building. haha.

Good Stuff, Riley! Sorry not to have seen this sooner. I always like seeing shelters and that's a handsome one. Making a good A frame is no mean feat, either; it takes a good long while to get the right frame setup and even longer to get enough leaves!

So are you still running the BK7 as your primary, for the most part? I'm dealing with a gent now to get one (if only to complete my Becker repertoire!) and have high expectations.

SPooky, thanks for the kind words... Yeah Still Rocking the BK7 and sak combo.... Loving it... Its an oustanding knife...at first it felt a bit awkward for chopping..as well as for fine work...with it's in between length...but once you get used to it and adapt your style...it's all gravy....I think you'll dig it...if not shoot me a PM..lol

Great Job Rescue!!!!

Thanks for posting

I gotta try making one of those

you and me both... I have the concept, but without practice if you ever needed one in a pinch you may find yourself in trouble..

Rescue, nice job.. have you ever went back out to the site to see if it is still up and how its held up after a few months?
