Man it was working hard!!

We caught 8 total catfish; kept 6 and let 2 small cats, and one big sheep head perch. My Mom is enjoying her knife that I bought to replace the one I broke.... Cheapy but it works. No... She can't have my Raven2 knife! :P

Fyi this is a tributary smaller river we tube float down every summer that feeds into the "Mighty Mississippi" River here in Eastern Iowa

Kudos to you for spending time with your mom. Never realized how important that was until I became a parent. Now be a good offspring and clean those cats for mom.:D

I've been in your neck of the woods many times. I used to hunt on a friend's property between Mt. Carroll & Savannah, IL. I've also fished for walleye several times beneath lock & dam 12 at Bellevue, IA. Had to drive through Sebula to get there.

Dude, I live in Sabula! :) We should go fishing sometime!

Haha, yeah I saw that you live in Sabula from your location info. I'd love the opportunity to go fishing with another knife knut but, after living in N. IL (45 miles NW of Chicago) for my entire life, I finally got out of there and moved to N. TX last summer. I do miss the fall trips out to the Mississippi with my brother but I'm really enjoying where I'm at.

Awe darn; didn't know you moved. Nothing like the fishing areas around here! You never know where/what you may catch in this huge river. I hear there are catfish the size of Volkswagen bug cars at the Dubuque dam from Army Corp of Engineer Divers?

It's nice to finally meet someone who knows this area. Freaks people out when you tell them you live on an island...... in Iowa?! :P

It's crazy on opening day of duck/goose season.... like WW3 started up! lol

Nice of you to take Mom out fishing!

What are your thoughts on the Raven 2? Been thinking of picking one up. After using my Manix LW a lot at work, I've become rather fond of BD1 and wouldn't mind another blade in that particular steel.

Been using mine now for over 2-3 weeks... comfortable to carry; enough blade to do any job, sharpens up with leather strop n green paste to razor. I've used it to cut fishing string, open mail, open fertilizer bags/ feed bags, cut tree branches off top of Mom's shed.... Still going strong. I have absolutely zero complaints on it... nice knife :)

Definitely buy one; you will like it! :)

And don't forget to take your CATCHERMAN model next time  A fishing trip just isn't complete without using a Spyderco CATCHERMAN model IMO. Also you should listen to my good friend SURF>> because he is the ambassador of the H-1 Salt Series and there are some very fine fishing blades in that line up ;)

Nice Catch. Nicer Knife. Byrd knives are really a nice example of how some things made in China are of good quality. Since , you like fishing might l suggest your next purchase to be a serrated H1 Atlantic Salt ? You won't regret it. It doesn't rust at all ! Iowa is a lovely place. I'll be sure to visit it this year and catch lots of Perch. I usually come to South Carolina every October to visit my Grandparents. That's an other great place for fishing and Hunting ... And Barbecue :D

Northern Pike are hitting on the Mississippi River right now! :)

Gotta get some sleep.. 4 am ugg... get my chores done so maybe this weekend I can go fishing. It's supposed to rain next week and they're expecting up to 3.5" of rain. I've been taking care of my Bro's farm since He's in Kublicana, Dominican Republic this week vacationing.

We've had 2 baby bull calves born in the last 3 days! Gotta get round bales out 2morrow, trim, and cut grass... his driveway is 1/2 mile long :O

I've been religiously carrying this knive doing chores, cutting open bags, cutting orange square bale twine..... absolutely zero problems. I'm liking it!
