Took the wife and daughter on a little wilderness excursion. Brought along the foxpro caller to call some coyotes, coons, etc but unfortunately the girls have trouble staying still and quite. She's getting the hang of it though and she didn't complain about the hiking one bit... Brought my daypack with a BK2 and some other gear. No hunting on this trip obviously, was just trying to shoot them with the camara. She was a perfect little counterweight for the pack though.

looks like a great day out with the family and those are the best days congrats!!

Looks like good times. Are you in Illinois there? Is that your Kelty pack? Hard to tell from the side.

Yea in IL, near the Kankakee River, the pic of creek/waterfall looking into the River. That's a Camalback trailblazer I use for short day hikes. The kelty Redwing 50 is about twice the size and I have it loaded for overnighters. I basically load each pack so I can just grab one for the type of adventure and go. Even with the small pack at about 25lbs with what I was carrying plus another 25lbs on the front I felt like a mule or a sherpa going up some of the hills.

I thought it looked a bit small to be the Kelty. Nice looking area.

Awesome pics man. Good to get 'em started early. I've carried both of my daughters on hikes in carriers at very young ages and both still love to go hiking with me today.

You would notice that, would you not, Ark ?..........And in a family oriented thread too......

Uhm, the dog is really.... happy.

Thats the G rated version, I deleted the pic I had up originally the dog had full on red rocket, did not notice until it was up. But yea ducks get the dog excited. Thanks for the kind words all.

The area you were hiking in looks great - very beautiful. Looks like the little one handled it well.

Thanks for sharing!

Great pics! Ark was just scoping out the tender parts for stir fry.
