Took The Old Reinhardt Out To Work

Howdy Folks...I was helping a relative by assisting him with chopping up some fallen limbs around his place today. The recent snow had brought some pine limbs down and a few broken ones were hanging off the trees. I had my old Reinhardt Kukri that I bought sometime in the early 90's. Its seen lots of use but I hadn't used it in a few years.

My relative has his small chainsaw. He worked with that to remove the smaller limbs and cut the bigger branches up for disposal. I just used the kukri. He was shocked to see me go through my pile faster and with less effort that he did his. The Reinhardt sailed through the soft wood and took everything smaller than 2" diameter apart with one swing. The biggest thing I had to focus on was not zipping through a piece and chopping some of me off.

I was amazed again to see how the blade shape and edge and thinner blade bit into the wood. There was no deflection or bounce with each stroke. It just kept taking the brush apart with little effort. I have cut a lot of wood and other stuff over many years with all sorts of blades including many types of machetes and axes. NOTHING has ever cut like the Reinhardt. I was impressed with it all over again. If I had to take only one blade into the wilderness to survive with... the Reinhardt Kukri would be it. It would be great for all the Becker fans to have the chance to own one of these. Maybe it should be brought back. I plan on being burried with mine!

Seriously, I'd love to see that bad boy in action:thumbup:

khukris will do that :)

i took a six inch 40ish foot maple down for a friend with an axe. friend ran off to get some trimmers and tools when it was down

i had a Bonecutter khukri with me and proceeded to limb it, and then section the upper < 4 inch bits.

i was done, but for having a couple good sized logs left to buck. all the branches cleaved off, and cut into 1 foot long pieces for the mulch bags. super speed, silent.

me, just standing there with my knife :) "uhm, okay, so, i suppose we don't need the trimmers now".

snerk.

Sorry folks...I don't have a camera. I spent all my money on knives and maybe a firearm or two...But it did happen...I think;)

Oh, I love my RBK with a passion, and mines never cut anything, so far as I can tell. I definetly won't as long as I own it, unless zombies start driving cars, then, all bets are off.

The one I used at Ethan's was a FIEND, a real killer. For those that don't know, Hank Reinhardt was a fencer, and you can really tell when you hold an RBK, that the strength from that knife is in the wrist, not the arm. The blade does all the work, and I do mean all, except for extricating itself from the wood, that you gotta do.

Good job Frizzman, glad you got a user and can enjoy all that awesome knife has to hold, sometimes I look at mine and wanna go beat some tree ass with it, but, if it gets too bad, I'll run down to E's place and use one of his users, LOL.
